How to be Successful
in Foreign
Languages
1. Adequately prepare and study
from your homework. All tests and
quizzes are based on your preparation and study of your homework and class
work. If you “slap” your homework
together at the last minute, you will not do well in a foreign language at
Grafton.
Procedure: A) As you complete the homework assignment, look up the
words you don’t know or have forgotten.
These are the words that will trip you up on tests and quizzes. Make a list of these vocabulary words and
learn them. Or, make flashcards of those
words. Drill them. Learn them.
Make up sentences and questions with them. This technique will help you learn your
vocabulary in a meaningful context.
B)
After you finish the assignment, go to the last word on the page. Working backwards, look at each word
and ask yourself if you know it. Work
all the way through the assignment until you reach the very first word on the
page. This technique will help you learn
your vocabulary in isolation.
2. If you feel lost or confused
in class, ask questions. If you need
additional help, come before or after school for extra help.
