A Found Collage Poem after The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Bob A.

I reckon I got to light out for the territory
Ahead of the rest
Living in a house pulled on me pretty tight
I liked the old ways best

The Widow Douglas she took me for her son
But it was rough living in the house all the time
Dismal regular the widow was
But I had plenty time

But there warn't no home like a raft, after all
Other places do seem so cramped up and smothery
I could fix it now so nobody won't think of following me
There warn't no other way, it being a mystery

I couldn't stand it no longer and cleared out
and there laid a man on the ground - it was Miss Watson's Jim
we would pull into the big clear river and wouldn't have no more trouble
I bet I was glad to see him

But now Aunt Sally, she's going to adopt me and sivilize me
And I can't stand it, I been there before
I reckon I got to light out for the territory
Ahead, so as to catch more
