The Music Crept By Me Upon The Waters
by Abby M.
Tempest; a high-powered storm,
with winds and rain in every form,
leaving an area in much distress,
sometimes amounting to quite a big mess.
Sizzle, Crack, Pop! goes the mast as it’s burned at the stake,
confusion and dismay causing much of a headache.
With everyone running this way and that,
trying to reach safety as a matter of fact.
The tempest wrecks the ship and casts the members ashore,
among the rants and raves a thought is presented, did someone say war?!
No, no, not war, but a savior at last,
a man by the name of Prospero, who got to thinking fast.
Bringing them back to the island,
the new comers are approached by a band,
well not quite a band, but a spirit it seems,
"The name’s Ariel,” he replies and with a smile, he beams.
Quite a musical creature is he,
and magical as well, I guarantee.
Appearing and disappearing with the blink of an eye,
and with the snap of a finger, he is near by.
Miranda and Ferdinand’s wedding party was bliss,
this is something that you would have not wanted to miss.
With joyous music setting the mood,
and Ariel and friends dancing in the nude.
Music played a big role in this play,
emphasizing the atmosphere and characters’ emotions one might say.
Being a key ingredient to the efficacy of not only this show, but others too,
music helps them to flow more naturally and not go askew.
This Shakespeare play was interesting and engaging,
incorporating music throughout, along with some singing.
We are left with Prospero and Ariel at the end,
Returning to Milan, farewell fond friend.
