by Stacy N. oh! sand! illustrious, illuminating grains! how i have missed the grit between my tanned toes. how i have longed to have these sights in my eyes as the sun warms my fresh skin. oh! beach! how i have missed thee. in the dead of winter i think of you to warm my insides when all things outside are frosted and dreary. oh! beach! in my younger years ever so, so, so long ago i did not see you and take you for what you truly are. you’re a man-made haven no child of nature. how glorious. and your water it does not lap. it is true. for your water is that of river decent. oh! beach! what a treasure you are with your façade in an attempt to be true sand heaven. oh! beach of yorktown! you are no beach at all! but no matter you are my love my home. |
