| Academic Expectations Students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative Grade Point
Average (GPA) to be considered for, and remain in, SOA programs. Recommendation
for the next level of a SOA program requires current SOA students to
maintain at least a C average in the SOA course(s) and a cumulative
GPA of at least 2.5. A failed SOA course may not be repeated. |
Assignment Expectations On-time completion of assignments is required of all
SOA students unless prior arrangements are made with the SOA instructor.
Full credit will only be given when the assignments are submitted by
the specified deadline. The highest grade given to late assignments
is a C and will decrease for each day the work is late. Regardless,
all SOA work must be completed and submitted. |
Dress Expectations SOA students are expected to follow the dress code for
York County School Division students as specified in the YCSD Student
Handbook. In addition, they are expected to follow the SOA dress guidelines
of appropriate attire for specific events. Students not following these
guidelines will not be allowed to participate in SOA activities or events.

Students who participate in the Literary Arts IV Mentorship program and designated Advanced Theatre Arts Practicum participants qualify for a reduced cost permit. Please note: A bus rider who is going to ride a different bus home from SOA than normal or who is getting off at a different stop must bring a permission-note signed by the parent or guardian to the SOA Coordinator one day in advance of the change. The permission-note will be signed by the coordinator and a copy will be provided to the bus driver. |
