SPELLING WORDS: This week’s words
are on The
Family Times Newsletter
and on my web site.
Parents: The students worked hard
last week. I am very proud of their efforts. I know it was a lot of
tests.
We
only have 2 weeks left in the first
quarter, so I’m sorry to say, there’s no rest for
the weary. We will have a
math test on addition (2, 3 and 4-digit numbers with and without
regrouping,
estimation of sums, and column addition) on Friday or Monday of next
week. We
have been working in Chapter 3 of the textbook. Next chapter will be
subtraction with and without regrouping.
It
would be a great help with these
chapters, and our weekly timed tests, if students could practice the
math facts
(add, sub, multiply, and divide). If your child isn’t taking
the multiplication
facts timed test now, he/she will be soon. So, I would like all
students to
practice 5- 10 min. 2 to 3 nights a week, if possible. Thanks!
Attached
to this week’s newsletter is the
Social Studies unit Explorers
study
guide. Tentative
test is scheduled
for Friday,
Nov. 2nd.
Have
a great week!
