Principal's Message

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Mount Vernon, home of the Mustangs. It is a pleasure to have you visit our exciting and informative web page! Please feel free to take a few minutes and browse through our different links. Teachers will continually update their pages with classroom information. Important school happenings will be also be updated regularly. We are very proud of our school.

Mount Vernon is located in Yorktown off of Yorktown Road. We have almost 600 students in our K-5 school and over 65 dedicated employees. This year the school is taking on an Americana theme. Classrooms and hallways are decorated to add to the excitement.

Mount Vernon teachers, staff and administrators are excited and committed to providing your children with the best possible education. We look forward to a continued effort between home, school and community to promote success and the desire for lifelong learning. Since 1998, we have been an accredited school. Our staff feels strongly that we have success in our academic program primarily because home and school are working towards a common goal. We applaud you, the parents, for having your children come to school prepared. You have instilled in our future leaders an appreciation for the importance of education.

Thank you for your interest and support.
