Step 1:  Get a "What's the Matter?" Journal from your teacher or click here to print a copy.

  • Put your name on the front of your journal.
  • Color the front of your journal

Step 2:   Investigate the States of Matter.

Find out:

  1. What are the 3 types of matter?
  2. What is a solid?
  3. What is a liquid?
  4. What is a gas?
  5. What is the meaning of dissolve?
  6. Can some things have properties of more than one state of matter?

Step 4 Use Storybook Weaver to write a paragraph and create a picture that shows what you have learned about the 3 states of matter.

  • Create 3 pictures to show the states of matter.
  • Write a paragraph telling about the states of matter.
  • Print your Storybook Weaver creation. 

Step 5  You and a partner devise a plan to put the states of matter back to the way they were. 

  • Pick a partner
  • Devise a plan to put the states of matter back to the way they were.  Use your imagination and the knowledge that you have learned in this webquest to devise a plan.
  • Present you plan to the "Class Committee"
  • The "Class Committee" votes on the best plan for the states of matter.
