Step 1:  Get a "How to be a Plant!" Journal from your teacher or click here to print a copy.

  • Put your name on the front of your journal.
  • Color the front of your journal

Step 2:   Investigate the parts of a plant.

Find out:

  1. What are the main parts of a plant?
  2. What does a plant need to survive?
  3. What causes a plant to die?
  4. What are some characteristics of a plant?

Step 3 Complete your "How to be a Plant!" journal.

  • Make sure that you have answered all questions about plants. 
  • Check your answers with a partner.

Step 4 Use Storybook Weaver to write a paragraph and create a picture that shows what you have learned about plants.

  • Create 3 pictures to show the parts of a plant, plants needs, and the stages of plants.
  • Write a paragraph telling about plants.
  • Make sure that you use complete sentences and correct spelling.
  • Print your Storybook Weaver creation. 

Step 5  You will make a flip flap book of the stages of a plant's life.

  • Get a peice of tag board from your teacher.
  • Make a flip flap book to show the stages of plant life from seed to full grown plant.
  • Make sure that you color your pictures and write about the stages of the plant.
  • Check to see that you used complete sentences and correct spelling.
