March News

Check our school March calendar for school events.

Dear Parents,

Spring is in the air and the students are excited about the upcoming warm weather and looking forward to Spring Break.

We'd like to welcome our new student teacher, Mr. Michaels.  He is a student at the College of William and Mary and has brought many new ideas to our classroom.  He is gradually taking over all aspects of the classroom setting with me as guidance.  Please remind your students that he will maintain the same high expectations.

We have been busy working weekly with the school's laptops.  We recently began making our habitat Power Points, which will be on line soon, along with research important figures in Black History and Virginia History.   We will continue to improve our typing skills.  Please encourage consistent effort in class and even additional typing skills at home.

We will be taking our 3rd Quarter DMA on April 3, 2008.  This quarter's test will focus on Fractions, Decimals, Probability, and Geometry (Lines, Segments, Ray, etc.)

This month's book report will be due on March 31,2008.  Book Report information went home the first week of March.  Please encourage your child to do their best and to choose a book that is AR, so that they may take an AR Test when completed.  In addition, please encourage nightly reading and AR Testing.

Educationally yours,
Mrs. Hodges,
