Discipline and Homework Responsibility Plan

Discipline
This classroom discipline plan will explain the behavioral expectations that will play a part in developing your child’s self-discipline.  It outlines rules, rewards, and consequence for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.  Our behavior plan will be enforced with a “Behavior Mile Marker Card”, which will be issued monthly.  Students will receive a hole punch in their mile marker card for not following these rules.  Students will be allowed a maximum of 8 punches per month, this total be decreased each month until the maximum punches per month will be 4 starting in the month of January.  These cards must be signed at the end of each month and returned.  **At the beginning of a new month, each student will start with a clean slate!

Class Rules
1. Turn in complete assignments on time
2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on
3. Stay in your seat (lesson time) and remain on task
4. Follow directions the first time
5. Keep hands and feet to yourself
6. Bring supplies to class daily
7. Respect other peoples feelings and property

Consequences
1. Verbal Warning
2. Contact Parent
3. Conference with Student, Teacher and Principal/ Asst. Principal
4. Severe misbehavior will go directly to the principal’s office, which may result in in or out of school suspension

Rewards
1. Verbal and Non-Verbal Praise
2. Positive Notes Home
3. Homework or class lunch passes
4. Whole class (Extra Recess)
5. Monthly Activity Period**

What is Activity Period?
Activity Period is a special privilege given to students who demonstrate responsibility for their assignments and appropriate behavior in and out of the classroom.  Students will have choice of games, crafts, or movies at the end of each month.  Students who do not meet the requirements will attend a Study Hall… Well, how do you make Activity Period?
  • You must get your homework in on time for all classes
  • You must demonstrate appropriate behavior by following school and classroom rules
  • You can not attend Activity Period if you have been sent to the office for behavior PROBLEMS.
I hope that you are able to attend Activity Period all year long!

Homework
Students are responsible for turning in assignments on time.  Homework will count as 10% of your grade.
