Dear
Students and Families,
Welcome to fourth grade! I'm excited about the opportunity to get to know you. I am looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
This year will be a year of learning, hard work and hopefully some new discoveries and fun. Fourth grade is a major stage of growth and more will be required from your child in terms of organization, homework and studying as he or she enters these intermediate years. I am always amazed by how much children will grow this year. They come to us as students who have learned to read and now they are beginning to use those reading skills to learn new information. Mrs. Caruso and I will be working as a team this year. I will teach Social Studies and Science and Mrs. Caruso will teach Language Arts, which includes Reading and Writing skills. It may take your child a while to organize themselves, and we will be helping them to make this transition as easy as possible.
We have a very resourceful class web page that is available to students for use at home. Please encourage them to use these sites at home as a part of their study routine and enrichment. Our webpage will be updated monthly so please check back often for information about what we are studying in class.
I am available to answer questions or discuss your concerns. Please feel free to call or email at your convenience.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Hodges
