Grafton High School Green Team

Grafton High School Green TeamThe Green Team is responsible for recycling activities at GHS. The team recycles an estimated 6 tons of paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, ink cartridges and cell phones each year. We have 35 members who sort recyclable materials every other week throughout the school year. We do generate income from ink cartridges and cell phones which is used to buy supplies and to support various community activities including assisting needy families with summer camp and donations to the Heifer project (support of third world families). In 2008, the Green Team received an award for "Excellent Achievement in Environmental Programs" from York County, James City County and the City of Williamsburg.
