Each year Waller Mill Elementary fifth grade students create an art project to leave to the school. This year the students collectively created a rock and sand garden. Students were divided into 5 groups and given an environmental artist to research. The groups then worked together to create a design that was radial, concentric, or spiral. They were given a list of available materials and had to create a plan. Each group started by planting an iris in the center and then used other materials as needed. The rock and sand garden can be seen in front of the school.
