National Junior Honor Society
To be eligible for membership consideration in National Junior Honor Society, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.65. Additionally, potential members must meet high standards of leadership, service, citizenship, and character. Eighth graders are chosen for this honor. Contact Guidance or the sponsors for more information.

Student Council Assoc.(SCA)
SCA is a student run organization that serves as a liaison between the students and administrators of Grafton Middle school. The organization’s goal is to improve the school community through service, society and spirit.

Drama Club & Drama Productions Cast & Crew Members prepare for their annual play presentation. This process includes auditions for stage cast and interviews for stage crew. Drama Club rehearsals on Tuesdays and meets on Fridays 6:00 - 9:00pm to study various genres of film works. Field Trips occur in May or June.

Art Club
The Art Club will be exploring new media this semester. Foil reliefs, reverse tie-dye , fish prints, Styrofoam block prints, and tissue paper collage window pieces to name a few. Students who wish to work on individual projects may also do so. To belong to the Art Club, drawing talent is not necessary. All that is needed is an interest in exploration and creativity!! Math Counts - Meets Every Tues Room 318
is a club for math detectives. We work on solving real life word problems that involve Pre-algebra, Algebra, and Geometry concepts, with measurement and probability thrown in. Students who like to solve math problems as quickly as possible will enjoy Math Counts. We compete against other middle school math teams on the Peninsula in February. The first place team and the top two individuals, not on the first place team, compete on the state level in March or April. The national contest will be in Washington, D.C. in May. Those who win at the national level receive scholarships and more. We meet on Thursday afternoon in Room 414.

CHROME Club
focuses on encouraging female and minority students to pursue careers in mathematics or the sciences. In CHROME we have speakers that come from various businesses and organizations in the community to facilitate activities and give talks. All grade levels at GMS are welcome to join CHROME

French Club-
is designed to explore the culture of the French-speaking world. We meet on average twice a month, depending on the time of year. We strive towards making cross-cultural connections and enjoy learning the language.

Spanish Club: Meets 3rd Tuesday of Month
The GMS Spanish Club will offer exposure to the Spanish-speaking world and its cultures. The intent is to be educational and fun for its members. It will help look beyond the doors of our own school and hearts to touch the lives of others and be open to diversity coming into our lives.

Girl's Ensemble
Girl's Ensemble is an audition singing group. It consists of 7th and 8th grade girls who get together to prepare music that will be sung at various concerts and other performances.
Girl's Ensemble meets every Thursday from 2:35 - 3:45.

GMS Band Buddies - Intermediate and Advanced band students who will be sponsoring a beginning band student through the year Beth Stone
Tutor Club - Beginning: October 11, 2007 Will meet every Thursday from 2:35 to 3:45. Must have a permission slip signed by the parent . Students from every grade level are welcome to stay after school to receive academic assistance from students in the high school National Honor Society. Student Interest Programs

 
Helping Hands
We are a service project club to offer our help to other clubs when they need extra sets of hands. We will be making candy houses for children who are in the hospital; decorating the lockers of students who are on the school's teams when they have a game day; collecting items like mittens when it gets cold to be given to Social Services; Valentines for Veterans in the VA Hospital, thank you cards for our deployed military, and other projects the kids come up with.

Builder's Club: Meets 4th Tuesday of Month and other occasional dates
The Builders Club is a service oriented club sponsored by Kiwanis International. We provide opportunities for middle grades students to develop leadership skills as they participate in various civic projects. These include a food drive, assistance in mentoring programs at York Elementary and Coventry, visits to nursing homes, and assistance with Kiwanis fund-raisers.

Grafton News Network (GNN) - Participation is by audition only for 7th and 8th Graders
A school news program created by students for students. It is to keep the student body informed of clubs and actives at GMS throughout the year.

Battle of the Books- to allow students the opportunity to read and discuss high-interest books in a relaxed and comfortable setting. While having fun, students also build comprehension and expand their vocabularies. The club is open to all students who either wish to read great books, or who wish to improve their reading skills. Student Spectators Club
provides students not involved with sports an opportunity to stay after school with teacher supervision and attend home sporting events. Parents are responsible for transportation home after the sporting event.

Scrapbook Club
Do you have pictures beginning to pile up and you don’t know what to do with them? Scrapbookers of all skill levels can join the fun at the Scrapbook Club. Youth to Youth club: Club Meets: Every Tuesday after school.
Youth to Youth is a very proactive international substance abuse and violence prevention program that started in Columbus, Ohio in 1982. This enthusiastic program quickly spread all across the United States and around the world and is in 26 foreign countries. Youth to Youth harnesses the powerful influence of positive peer pressure to encourage students to reach out to help each other. Youth to Youth has four basic tenets, that of drug abuse education and information, personal growth and decision making, environmental change, and drug-free fun. Students write and perform their own skits and plays, participate in community service, attend ropes and initiatives challenge courses, take part in leadership activities, develop school-wide programs such as national Red Ribbon Week, perform at conferences, and participate in field trips. We meet every Tuesday after school in the Kiva.

Peer Ambassadors: serve as a welcoming committee for new students as the enter Grafton Middle School. Peer Ambassadors will meet and greet new students, organize and host new student receptions, and help students who need assistance transitioning to Grafton Middle School. Students who are interested in becoming Peer Ambassadors should stop by the Guidance office for an application.

Recycle Club: Students will meet at least twice a month on Thursdays to collect, sort, and recycle scrap paper throughout the school. Shawanda Davis

Operation Smile Club - The GMS "Smile Club" will build community awareness, raise funds, and educate students about the values of commitment, leadership, and volunteerism.
