2006 8th Grade Celebration Information
Check often for updates and ways you can help make this a wonderful evening for our 8th Graders.
May 22nd- 8th Grade Celebration ticket sales - start today!
Tickets for the 8th Grade Celebration will be on sale starting today and will run through May 31st. The tickets are available in the cafeteria from 11:00 - 1:00 everyday. The cost is $10 for pre-sale (they will be $20 at the door on the night of the event so make sure to send your money in early - this is so we can have an accurate count for food and chaperones). Please make checks payable to GMS PTA, and if you are sending in cash put it in an envelope with your student's name "8th Grade Celebration" and their homeroom teacher's name. Donations needed for the 8th Grade celebration!! If you know a business that can donate products for door prizes or items to be put in the students bags - please contact Trina Burkett at 288-4182. Thanks for your support!

50's Memorabilia - These will be displayed in a locked glass case, so we won't need to get them from you until the week of; but if you have something, please contact Kathy soon so that she can plan the display and make arrangements with you to get the items.
Large Cardboard - Needed as soon as possible to make decorations, large appliance boxes would be most useful.
45 RPM Records - These will be used for decorations and won't be returned to you.
Hunt for photos! Some of our students in the “Movie Makers” Club, along with Mrs. Zahn & Mrs. Vreeland, have graciously volunteered to put together a picture slideshow to run throughout the evening of the celebration. We will need one baby & one current picture of your child sent in one of two ways: Send via email to RSAAGcherry@cox.net. Choose any size photo, but 3X5 or 4X6 works best. Please label each photo with your child’s first & last name, and send as a jpeg file if possible (miacherry1.jpg & miacherry2.jpg). We can not accept professional photos, including school pictures, due to copyright regulations. Please include “8th Grade Celebration” in your subject line. If you do not receive a reply of receipt, please send a second time. Or, you may send photos in the mail to: Sandy Cherry, 140 Gardenville Drive, Yorktown, VA 23693. Please label each photo with your child’s full name. Photos will be returned at the celebration. We MUST have all photos no later than May 21, 2006
