Please adhere to
these guidelines. They are designed to protect the instructors
and the students.
Lessons with a Mentor are designed primarily for the beginning band
student. Some intermediate and advanced students may wish to
schedule lessons for help on scales, chromatic, etc. Most
intermediate and advanced students should seek a professional private
teacher. There is a list of professional private teachers
available at school.
Lessons may be scheduled to meet at GMS during regular school days on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from the time of 2:35 pm to 3:30
pm. Lessons will not be held on half days.
Please confirm your lesson time with Mr. Menefee or Mrs. Stone. A space
and time will be reserved for you in the band room.
Lessons may be taught outside of GMS but a parent/guardian must be
present to supervise. The parent/guardian may be that of the HS
student or the MS student.
Lessons are 30 minutes, once each week. HS instructors are paid
$5.00 per lesson.
24 hours notice of cancellation is required by the HS instructors and
the MS students. If a HS student fails to cancel a lesson with 24
hours notice they should make up the lesson at no charge. If a MS
student fails to cancel a lesson with 24 hours notice they should pay
the HS instructor for the missed lesson.
Please contact Mr. Menefee or Mrs. Stone if you have any concerns or
questions. The list of instructors and their phone numbers is
available at school. We also have a list of professional private
teachers available at school for intermediate and advanced students.
