Dear Parent/Guardian
Guidance counselors will soon begin meeting with students to select courses for next year. We seek input from both faculty and parents in this important decision making process. Parents are encouraged to participate by attending their student’s scheduling conference. The counselor and the parent can assist the student in making the best choices while considering the student’s interests, abilities, diploma requirements, and post-secondary plans and goals.
Please note that final course recommendations are made in the spring by your student’s current classroom teachers. Therefore, this pre-registration selection is subject to change based on your student’s end of year grades and progress.
Please complete the bottom half of this form and have your
student return it to the guidance office no later than Thursday, December 20th.
We
anticipate that many parents will want to participate in these conferences, and
therefore, we are allowing 15-30 minutes for each conference.
If you would like to attend your student’s scheduling conference, please detach the bottom half of this form and have your student return it to the GHS Guidance Office by December 20, 2007. Your student’s guidance counselor will call you after the winter break to schedule your conference.
