  • Keep name and address private on the Internet.
  • Only use sites that are approved by your parents.  Be careful when following links from those pages.
  • Tell your parents about any scary, rude or false websites.

  • Be a good online citizen and do not do anything that hurts other people.
  • Obey copyright laws- Ask permission before taking words, pictures, or sounds from someone else's website.  Be sure to cite information you use.
  • Ask your parents before downloading anything to a computer.
  • Keep personal information private.  Ask parents before filling out forms, contest, and sign-up incentives.

  • 6.   Look for each site's privacy policy and find out what it does with your information.
  • 7.   Stop and tell your parents if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.
  • 8.   Only use sites that are approved by your parents.  Be careful when following links from those pages.
  • 9.   Always check the source of information and confirm it with your parents, a teacher or a librarian because you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.
