Welcome

Dare Elementary School welcomes you to the Dare community and hopes you and your children will become active members of our school family.

  

Who we are

Located in the heart of York County, Dare Elementary opened its doors in 1965. We are currently home for 430 kindergarten through fifth graders, and are accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

 

Our mission
We are dedicated to instilling in children a lifelong love for learning. Our mission is to prepare each child to meet successfully life's daily challenges.
 

From the Peninsula:

Take I-64W to exit 256B, Victory Blvd. Travel 1.5 miles on Victory Blvd. to US Route 17N. Turn left onto Rt. 17 and travel 3 miles to Route 621, Dare Road. Turn right onto Dare Road and travel .4 miles. Turn left into the parking lot of DES.
 

From Richmond:

Take I-64E to exit 250B, Ft. Eustis Blvd. Travel 3.9 miles on Ft. Eustis Blvd. to US Route 17S. Turn right onto Rt. 17 and travel 2.4 miles to Route 621, Dare Road. Turn left onto Dare Road and travel .4 miles. Turn left into the parking lot of DES.
