WHY YOUR PTA MEMBERSHIP IS IMPORTANT?
On behalf of the Coventry Elementary School PTA we want to welcome you to the 2007-2008 school year. We look forward to a fun and exciting year. We wanted to share with everyone why the PTA is a vital part of the school. Locally PTA provides educational, social and cultural arts activities for the children of Coventry and their families. Each year the PTA makes many donations to the school for equipment, books and supplies not available through the regular school budget. Each of these items helps to enhance the learning environment for our children and support teacher activities in the classroom. When you join PTA it is also a membership in the National/State PTA. You may ask why that is important. Our National/ State PTA establishes the policies that affect our children. National PTA advocates exclusively on behalf of our children. Increased PTA membership helps to influence decisions being made regarding our children. PTA also sponsors many programs including parenting education, health and safety programs for our families and the community. So we ask that you please join the PTA and support our school, our children and our community. Our PTA board meetings are the first Tuesday of every month and we are always looking for new ideas. We invite anyone who is interested to come to any meeting or call any board member with ideas, suggestions or comments.
