Step 1: Create an account

• If you don't have a Quia account

   o Create a new account a http://www.quia.com/newuser.html .

   o This will take you to the Instructor Zone. Enter code (see Mrs. Schultz)

     in the activation key field near the top of the page and

     press GO.

   o Your account is now active.

  If you already have a Quia account

   o Log into Quia Web at    http://www.quia.com/web .

   o This will take you to the Instructor Zone. Enter code (see Mrs. Schultz)

     in the activation key field near the top of the page and

     press GO.

Step 2: Create basic Quia homepage

• Click on "Classes" tab
• Click "Go" button next to "Create a New Class Page"
• Enter required information
• Try to pick a page name your students can remember (i.e. lmarshallpage)
• Click "Save Changes" button

Step 3: Create Activities for your class

• Click on "Activities" tab
• Select type of activity from drop-down menu
• Click "Go" button
• Follow on-screen instructions and enter required information
• Click "Done" button

Step 4: Add Shared Activities from other Teachers

• Click on "Activities" tab
• Click link for "shared activities area"
• Search through sections
• Preview activity in new window
• Close new window when done
• If you like it, click the "Add to My Page" icon

Step 5: Create Class Roster for Quizzes

• Click on "Classes" tab
• Click "Roster" tab on second row
• Click "Create a new class" button
• Name your class and choose "Instructor enroll"
• Enter student names
• Click "Save Changes"
• Click "Continue"
• Student user names will be shown
• Click (P) to see each student's full information (name, username, password)
• Distribute this information to each student

Step 6: Create and Assign Quizzes

• Click on "Quizzes" tab
• Select type and number of questions and click "Add"
• Follow on-screen directions
• Click "Done"
• Scroll to bottom and set quiz for chosen class
• Choose options (number of attempts, date open, etc.)
• Make sure to add the quiz to your class page
